BOSTON — Governor Charlie Baker today announced Patrick Carnevale as the Director of the Governor’s Western Massachusetts Office in Springfield. Carnevale brings almost twenty years of experience in public service and will be the Administration’s primary liaison between Western Massachusetts constituents and communities.
“Our Springfield office serves as an important connector to support our constituents, local leaders and municipalities in Western Massachusetts,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “With almost two decades of public service and his role in overseeing emergency management for Western Massachusetts, Patrick is uniquely qualified to lead the office and we are proud to welcome him to our team.”

Governor Karyn Polito. “Patrick’s years of experience and his dedication to the people of the Commonwealth will serve the constituents of the Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties well.”

About Patrick Carnevale
With eighteen years of public service in the Commonwealth, Patrick Carnevale has spent much of his career in emergency preparedness response and recovery. Mr. Carnevale most recently served as Regional Manager for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), where he is responsible for emergency management in Central and Western parts of the state. Since 2002, he has held multiple roles in the State Emergency Operations Center, responding to natural disasters, developing and implementing municipal preparedness plans, allocating state and federal funding and grants, and improving emergency management in 161 communities. He is a two-time recipient of MEMA’s Performance Recognition Award for outstanding emergency response and recovery performance. Prior to his role at MEMA, Mr. Carnevale started in the Office of Governor Paul Cellucci and was then Deputy Director in the Office of Acting Governor Jane Swift, where he served as a liaison between the Administration and constituents of Western Massachusetts. Mr. Carnevale graduated with his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams and received his Master’s in Business Administration from Western New England University in Springfield, MA. He also attended the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative and the National Preparedness Leadership in Homeland Security at Harvard University. He holds fourteen certificates relating to emergency preparedness disaster management from the Emergency Management Institute, the National Hurricane Center and MEMA. Mr. Carnevale currently resides in Pittsfield and is the father of triplets Lauren, Nick and Sebastiana.
