Haverhill grand opening

HaverhillMassachusetts Registrar of Motor Vehicles Erin Deveney today joined Secretary of Transportation and CEO Stephanie Pollack, City of Haverhill Mayor James Fiorentini, state and local officials for a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the official opening of the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) new Service Center located at 229c Lincoln Avenue in Haverhill.  Under the Baker-Polito Administration, seven new or remodeled RMV customer service locations have opened, providing enhanced service for customers.

“MassDOT is pleased to provide another state-of-the-art service center that incorporates many enhancements which are customer-friendly and make in-person transactions more convenient,” said Secretary Pollack. “The Baker-Polito Administration has prioritized improving the customer experience and has been successful, due in part, by creating locations with expanded floor space, additional seating, more workstations, increased free parking and layouts which are conducive to getting members of the public in and out quickly.”

The new Haverhill Service Center is fully ADA accessible and offers a larger facility with 5,822 square feet, compared to the former location that had 1,100 square feet.  The new location features workstations for the public, a larger customer seating area, and free parking.  In addition, driver’s license permit tests are offered at this new Haverhill location.

“We are pleased to provide the Haverhill community with this new service center location that includes updated customer service amenities and now offers driver’s permit tests,” said Registrar Deveney.  “We thank Mayor James J. Fiorentini and local and state leaders for their support in helping us facilitate the relocation of this service center which allows us to provide convenient parking for customers and new features for the public.”

“This new location is a tremendous convenience to the citizens of Haverhill and will help revitalize the business district,” said Mayor Fiorentini.

The RMV is transforming its business processes and replacing its technology to deliver exceptional customer service for residents and businesses across the Commonwealth. Customers are encouraged to “Save Time and Get Ready” online at mass.gov/rmv  to start or complete more than 30 transactions, including renewing a driver’s license or registration, ordering a special plate, changing an address, paying license and road test fees, scheduling a road test, requesting a crash report, and many more.

AAA members can also visit any of the 34 AAA branches across the state for select license and registration services.  For more information, visit AAA.com/registry.

The RMV is making strides to build an industry-leading, customer-centered organization for individual and commercial customers, as well as for business and government partners.  In addition to the opening of the Haverhill Service Center, the RMV recently opened new offices in Lawrence, Leominster, New Bedford, Plymouth and Springfield, and remodeled an existing center in Brockton.  These new service center sites will ensure better access, parking, and customer intake capability, with an overall improved design to support customer needs.
