NORTHAMPTONNorthampton Fire Chief Jon Davine and State Fire Marshal Peter J. Ostroskey announced the cause of yesterday’s fire at 33 West Street in Northampton was accidental. The fire at East Heaven, a hot tub and spa company, was spotted at 5:23 p.m. by firefighters returning from another call. Damage is estimated at $500,000. There were no injuries.

The fire started in a closet holding mechanical equipment connected to the hot tubs. There is no evidence of foul play.

Northampton fire investigators, Northampton detectives and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal are jointly investigating the fire. The investigation is on-going.
