News Notice to individuals who left Puerto Rico due to the recent hurricanes and may be temporarily or permanently residing in Massachusetts

PUERTO RICO — To file a claim for unemployment assistance, please visit the Puerto Rico website at http://www.trabajo.pr.gov and file your claim online. Per guidance issued by the U.S. Department of Labor, this is the fastest method to file a claim.

If you were self-employed, were about to commence work, have little or no prior work history, and are unemployed as a result of the disaster, we can help you file a claim for Disaster Unemployment Assistance. Please call (877) 355-1135 to receive assistance.

Department of Unemployment Assistance 

DUA oversees the unemployment insurance (UI) program, which provides temporary income assistance to eligible workers in Massachusetts. DUA also determines and collects employer contributions to the UI program.
