World War I Soldier Photographs (Individual)
Photograph Collection 359
In commemoration of Veterans Day, this November we’re displaying five portrait photographs from Photograph Collection 359, which documents over 8,000 World War I soldiers. The collection was compiled by the Boston Globe during the war and was donated to the library in 1935. The majority of the soldiers depicted are from the 26th Infantry Division, also known as the Yankee Division because it was comprised predominantly of soldiers from New England states.
Read more about these images and Photograph Collection 359 in our recent blog post and visit us from November 4 through December 2 to see them on display.
