Mrs. Coyle, affectionately known as “Moe,” has been described by her colleagues as being passionate about her job and the Braintree community where she often volunteered her time to charities. In a recent show of support to her son, Michael Coyle III's soccer team, the Purple People Eaters, paid tribute to Mrs. Coyle by donning t-shirts with her nickname, Moe, printed on the back of their shirts.

“Mikey has the heart of a lion and Maureen was the biggest fan for his team and loved watching his games!,” said Soccer Coach Mike Smith, who organized the tribute.

Born and raised in Dorchester, Mrs. Coyle graduated from St. Gregory’s High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Mount Ida College. Mrs. Coyle began working in the Commissioner’s Office after graduation from high school in 1984. She held several positions at OCP, including file clerk and administrative secretary. In February 1998, she became an Associate Probation Officer at the Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court. She was promoted in February 2000 to Probation Officer at Roxbury Court. In April 2017, she transferred to Quincy District Court where she worked until her passing.

“Maureen was proud to be from Dorchester and the community was rooted strongly in her. She had an infectious smile and enjoyed listening to her probationers’ life stories, building strong bonds, and rapport that will outlive her short years,” said Dedham District Probation Officer II Sara Veiga, colleague and friend.

She leaves her husband, Michael Coyle, and 14-year-old son, Michael Coyle, III. Mrs. Coyle is the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Coleman) Dolan. She also leaves to mourn her a sister, Patricia Foscaldo, and her husband, James of Weymouth; a brother,  Brian Dolan of Quincy; and another brother, Sean Dolan, and his wife, Karen, of West Roxbury; as well as a host of relatives, friends, and colleagues.
