Ev Gilbert (he/they) is a queer, trans, and Asian young person dedicated to uplifting and centering the voices of LGBTQ+ youth, particularly those in the QTBIPOC community. In 2022, Ev graduated Boston University with a bachelors degree in Sociology and a minor in Public Health, receiving the College Prize for Excellence in Sociology for his thesis, “The Racialized Dating Experiences of Asian, Black, and Latine Members of the LGBTQ Community.” At Boston University, Ev was an Executive Board member of the Queer Activist Collective and made history by co-chairing the initiative to host BU’s first-ever Lavender Ceremony, a cultural celebration and commemoration of the University’s LGBTQ+ graduating students, where he delivered the keynote address.
As Youth Programs Coordinator, Ev manages all direct youth programming, including the GSA Student Leadership Council, Youth Empowerment Series, and Virtual GSA. Ev is passionate about education, activism, and advocacy, and loves supporting student voices. In his free time, Ev enjoys rock climbing and spending time with his pet pigeon, Pidge (she/they).
