Marlborough Retirement Board – Fifth Member
The Marlborough Retirement Board is seeking applicants for the position of the Fifth Member of the retirement board. Applicants for the Fifth Member seat may not be an employee, retiree, or official of the City of Marlborough or the Marlborough Housing Authority.
The Fifth Member, together with the other four members of the Board, acts as a fiduciary of the Marlborough Retirement System and is involved in the administration of the system and the management of investments totaling approximately $169 million. The Board meets one day a month, generally the third or fourth Wednesday, and other times as needed. Monthly meetings last from one to three hours. The Fifth Member serves a three-year term and receives a monthly stipend of $250.
Board members are required to complete eighteen (18) hours of training during their three-year term. A minimum of three (3) hours of training must be completed annually but no more than nine (9) hours may be credited in one year. Board members must also file certain disclosure forms and an Annual Statement of Financial Interest with the Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission.
