NEWTON RETIREMENT BOARD
The Newton Retirement Board is seeking applicants for the position of Fifth Member of the retirement board. The Fifth Member, together with the other four members of the Board, acts as a fiduciary of the Newton Retirement System and is involved in the administration of the 3,600 member system. The Board meets one day a month, generally the third or fourth Wednesday of each month and at other times as needed. Monthly meetings last from 1-3 hours plus additional supplemental and emergency meetings as necessary and all meetings are held at Newton City Hall. Applicants for the Fifth Member seat may not be an employee, retiree, member of the Newton Retirement System or an official of the City of Newton or one of its governmental units. This is a three-year term with an annual compensation of $3,000.
