Court Services Available Remotely
Massachusetts courthouses are open and doing most business remotely during the pandemic.

  • Virtual Front Counters and Virtual Registries.
    Learn more about virtual front counters and virtual registries where you can get help from Housing Court Clerks' Offices and Housing Specialist Departments, Probate & Family Court registries, the Land Court Recorder's Office, and the Middlesex County Juvenile Court. Learn more here.
  • Court Services Centers.
    Court Service Centers locations are closed to the public until further notice due to COVID-19, but remote services are available for emergency cases via Zoom Meetings. Learn more here.
  • Trial Court Law Libraries.
    Trial Court Law Libraries continue to provide services remotely during COVID-19. Contact your local law library to find out which services are offered and to learn about local courthouse entrance protocol.
  • Help Line.
    The Trial Court established a Help Line that the public can call to ask general questions about their civil and criminal cases and help them navigate the court system. The Help Line is staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and can be reached by calling 833-91COURT (912-6878). Courts Extend Start Date for Jury Trials to January 11, 2021

  • In response to the current situation in the Commonwealth with respect to COVID-19 and the expectation of rising infections during the holiday period, the Supreme Judicial Court and the Trial Court announced today further postponement of the resumption of jury trials, which are now scheduled to begin the week of January 11, 2021. Click here for more information.

Trial Court Sets Up "Zoom Rooms" in Four Courthouses

  • The Trial Court recognizes that across Massachusetts, many court users lack the devices or internet access necessary to fully participate in remote proceedings. To ensure that access to technology does not inhibit access to justice, the Trial Court is setting up computer stations in select courthouses for users to take part in Zoom videoconferencing. The first of these “Zoom Rooms” have been set up in the Brockton, Chelsea, Springfield, and Worcester courthouses. Click here for more information.
