Authorize access to your SSP case information

SSP clients can authorize other entities and individuals to assist in the management of their SSP case.

Designated Payees

SSI clients may have a Representative Payee to help them manage their case. Representative Payees with SSA automatically become Designated Payees with SSP.

SSP clients may have help managing their case from a Designated Payee. Designated Payees receive SSP payments and notices on behalf of clients, and should ensure that their contact information and payment method (bank account or address where to send a check) on record with SSP is accurate and up to date.

Clients who only receive SSP payments and wish to appoint or change a Designated Payee should call the SSP Assistance Line at 1-877-863-1128.

Access to SSP Client Record and Information

SSP clients may authorize other non-payee entities and individuals to access their SSP case information. An authorized person does not receive the client’s SSP payments and cannot make any changes to the client’s case, but may request information about the client’s case by calling the SSP Assistance Line at 1-877-863-1128.

An SSP client who wishes to authorize another individual to have access to his or her SSP record and information should complete and return a Request for Access to SSP Client Record and Information form. This will give the individual named on the form permission to contact SSP on the client’s behalf to discuss the client’s case. To stop this permission, the client should call the SSP Assistance Line at 1-877-863-1128.
