City of Medford Reuse Restriction Public Hearing

To consider reuse restrictions for the sale of land in the City of Medford.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) hereby gives notice that, pursuant to Sections 34 and 37 of Chapter 7C of the Massachusetts General Laws, a public hearing shall be conducted to (i) consider reuse restrictions for the sale of land totaling 2.76+ acres in the city of Medford, that has been determined to be surplus to the needs of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and (ii) disclose the conditions and reasons for the proposed sale of said land.  Said land is located south of Revere Beach Parkway adjacent to Wellington Station.  The land, currently occupied by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (“MBTA”) for train facility maintenance and other MBTA uses, is under the care and control of the Department of Conservation and Recreation (“DCR”).  The land which has been determined surplus to current and foreseeable direct public uses will be conveyed to the MBTA in exchange for property that DCR will use for Article 97 purposes as part of the Wellington Greenway.   

The public hearing shall be conducted on Tuesday January 30, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at the Medford Public Library, located at 111 High Street, Medford, MA 02155.

Following the hearing the DCAMM Commissioner shall make a draft of any reuse restrictions, or the decision not to impose reuse restrictions, available to the public on this website at Drafts of Reuse Restrictions Available for Public Comment and shall accept written comments thereon for a period of 21 days thereafter.
