Conservation Assistance for Small Communities Grant Program

    Overview

    The Conservation Assistance for Small Communities Grant Program provides funding for towns with 7,000 people or less for:

    • The preparation of real property appraisals
    • Open Space & Recreation Plans (OSRPs)
    • Other planning in support of land conservation and recreation

    In order to remain eligible for funding, the applicant municipality must also apply to one of the Division of Conservation Services’ grant programs in FY 23. Grant funding is awarded to all eligible applications on a first come first served basis until all funds are allocated.

    Eligible Projects

    Eligible projects include:

    • Appraisals
    • Open Space and Recreation Plans
    • Other planning documents

    Participants must have an executed state contract prior to incurring costs for work.
