COVID-19 Licenses

Due to the state of emergency, Governor Baker and Commissioner Bharel have issued the following orders that may affect your licensing:

Please pay special attention to the following options depending on the status of your license.

If you are licensed in another state and seek to practice in Massachusetts during the COVID-19 State of Emergency, use the below links to access your Board’s COVID Licensing Page.                   

 If your license is current, or was due to expire on or after March 10, 2020, you may take one of the following two actions:

  1. Do nothing now, and renew later.  Your license expiration date will be extended until 90 days after the termination of the State of Emergency.
  2. Log on to Mass. Department of Public Health Online Licensing and renew your license as normal.  Any applicable late fee will be waived.

If your license expired prior to March 10, 2020 and you are still within the window for late renewal, you may take one of the following two actions:

  1. Submit a paper renewal application for the COVID-19 State of Emergency only.  This renewal has no fee and you will not need to meet renewal requirements.  The renewal will expire 90 days after the termination of the State of Emergency.  Please see the COVID Licensing page above for your Board to locate the required documents.
  2. Log on to Mass. Department of Public Health Online Licensing and complete a late renewal.  The late fee will be waived.  You will still be required to pay the regular license renewal fee and meet licensure renewal continuing education requirements.  This renewed license will expire in ordinary course.

If your license expired prior to March 10, 2020 and you are not within the window for late renewal, you may take one of the following two actions:

  1. Submit a reactivation application for the COVID-19 State of Emergency only.  This reactivation has no fee and you will not need to meet reactivation requirements.  The reactivation will expire 90 days after the termination of the State of Emergency.  Please see the COVID Licensing page above for your Board to locate the required documents.
  2. Submit a reactivation application for the COVID-19 State of Emergency only.  This reactivation has no fee and you will not need to meet reactivation requirements.  The reactivation will expire 90 days after the termination of the State of Emergency.  To take this action, click here.
