COVID-19 Licenses - Board of Registration in Nursing

Due to the public health emergency, the following order may affect your licensing:

If you are a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse in another state and seek to practice in Massachusetts during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, click here to apply for a temporary license. Applications for temporary licenses will not be accepted after September 30, 2022. Nursing temporary licenses granted under the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency will expire on December 31, 2022.

In accordance with Order of the Commissioner of Public Health (COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Order No. 2022-15, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurses whose license has expired may reactivate their license for the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. This reactivation has no fee, and you will not need to meet reactivation requirements. Applications for reinstatement will not be accepted after June 30, 2022.
