COVID-19 Licenses - Board of Respiratory Care

Due to the public health emergency, the following order may affect your licensing:

Order of the Commissioner of Public Health (COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Order No. 2021-6) authorizing issuance of temporary licenses for certain providers, and renewal or reactivation of certain temporary licenses (issued August 26, 2021)

Please pay special attention to the following options depending on the status of your license.

If you are a licensed respiratory therapist in another state and seek to practice in Massachusetts during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, click here to apply for a temporary license.  Temporary respiratory therapist licenses granted under the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency will expire on December 31, 2021.

In accordance with COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Order No. 2021-6, respiratory therapists whose license has expired may reactivate their license for the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.  This reactivation has no fee and you will not need to meet reactivation requirements.  The reactivation will expire on December 31, 2021.  To take this action, click here.
