Donate or Sell Property to the Commonwealth

The Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), under certain legislative terms and conditions, may acquire private land.

There are three ways to sell real estate to the Commonwealth

  • Real estate may be gifted to the Commonwealth for no cost
  • Real estate may be sold to the Commonwealth in response to solicitations by DCAMM for competitive proposals to purchase properties within a target area
  • Real estate may be sold to the Commonwealth if the Commissioner of DCAMM makes an official uniqueness determination based on the qualities or location of a property
