The purpose of the FY2020 Head Start State Supplemental Grant program is to support workforce development and program quality across all Head Start and Early Head Start sites in Massachusetts. The grant funds support staff’s salaries, compensation and benefits to address recruitment and retention of Head Start and Early Head staff, and high quality comprehensive services that may include coaches, mental health consultants and additional teaching staff to provide lower staff/child ratios. The grant also provides direct support for Head Start and Early Head Start programs to meet the 20% federal match requirement.
Who can apply
This is a continuation grant. Only those Head Start and Early Head Start agencies that received a Head Start State Supplemental Grant in FY2019 can apply for FY2020 Head Start State Supplemental Grant funds.

How to apply

Please note that only Head Start grantees can access the FY2020 grant application on COMMBUYS, through their agency's registered COMMBUYS account.
Once you are logged into COMMBUYS, you can search for the grant application by the Bid number. Please refer to the document titled "FY2020 Head Start State Supplemental Grant Online Application Instructions" for the instructions and link to the online application.
