Get help from the Family Court Answer Center

The Family Court Answer Center is available once a month to help provide information for those involved in a family law case.

The Family Court Answer Center is offered at the Court Service Center located on the 2nd Floor of the Edward W. Brooke Courthouse in Boston. The center is a free resource for parents to get answers to their questions.

What is the purpose of Answer Center?

  • to provide mothers and fathers with general information on certain family law matters;
  • to provide opportunities to meet one-on-one with subject-matter experts and resources;
  • to supply and help complete necessary forms for court proceedings;
  • to refer those seeking to hire a lawyer to legal referral services;
  • to make available written information on community programs and services.

What type of staff is available?

The Answer Center provides opportunities to meet individually with:

  • Attorneys
  • Department of Revenue staff
  • Department of Children and Families staff
  • Probation Department staff
  • Registry/Judicial staff
  • Domestic Violence Advocates

  • Divorce
  • Child Support
  • Paternity
  • Parenting time and custody
  • Contempts and modifications
  • Domestic violence
  • Procedural questions (forms, filings, summons, and more)
  • What to expect in the courtroom
