Insight Computer Training Center Bulletin #1

___
To: Current and Former Students of Insight Computer Training Center
320 Washington Street, Brighton, MA
Date: January 14, 2004
Re: School Closure

It appears that the owner of the Insight Computer Training Center (Insight), David C. Pong, has closed the school. The Department attempted to gain access to the property on January 12, 2004 after learning from several students that the school was not open. Mr. Pong has not responded to the Department's phone calls. At this time we have no information on the status of student records or tuition payments.

Insight's license to operate has expired, and on January 13, 2004 the Department notified Insight that its license to operate will not be renewed. In accordance with the regulations, Insight has fifteen days to request a hearing. Please watch this web-site for an updated bulletin to be posted by Wednesday, February 4, at which time students will be given information on how to participate in a "teach out" by another school or how to file a claim for restitution of their unearned tuition.

Students:
Students who have not completed their course of study due to Insight's closure may be eligible to file a claim with the Department for a tuition refund. Students should NOT file a complaint or a claim for restitution against Insight at this time. Please consult the Department's web-site for future bulletins on this matter. In the meantime, students can contact the Consumer Complaint and Information Section of the Attorney General's Office and file a Consumer Complaint:
http://www.ago.state.ma.us/con_pro/index.asp?head1=Consumer%20Protection&section=17.

Any students who have paid tuition to Insight may contact the agencies with whom they have student loans (contact information should be on your loan documents) to request a discharge and may contact their banks to stop payment on any payments by credit cards or checks.

Students who are attending school under M.G.L. 151A section 30 unemployment law and 430 CMR 9.0 should contact the Division of Unemployment Assistance (formerly known as the Division of Employment and Training) at 617-626-5375 to notify them of this disruption in educational services. They will work with you to make the necessary adjustments to your claim.

Teachers:
Teachers who have not been paid wages should contact the Attorney General's Office to file a claim for unpaid wages:

The Department will keep students informed by posting updated bulletins as new information becomes available. The Department greatly appreciates your help in keeping the volume of phone calls it receives to a minimum by checking these bulletins, as it helps our small staff concentrate on completing the high volume of work experienced by this unit. We thank you for your help and patience in this matter.
