Invite to Comment - Appeals Court rule for access to electronic case information and records

General Laws c. 211A, § 13, authorizes the Appeals Court, subject to the approval of the Supreme Judicial Court, to adopt rules regulating the "practices, procedures and internal administration of the appeals court."  The Appeals Court invites public comments on the proposed adoption of Appeals Court Rule 32.0, Access to Electronic Case Information and Court Records.  The rule is intended to identify, clarify, and govern the Appeals Court's practices of posting for public remote electronic access certain case information and electronic court records to the appellate courts' website.  The text of the proposed rule and its related commentary is available at this link.

The Appeals Court welcomes all comments on the proposed rule. Comments should be directed to Joseph Stanton, Clerk, Massachusetts Appeals Court, One Pemberton Square, Boston, MA 02108, or to AppellateRules@jud.state.ma.us, on or before February 28, 2020.  The comments received will be made available to the public.
