Now Accepting Applications for the 2019 LBE Awards
To apply or make a nomination for a Public Entity or Individual LBE award please fill out the application form in the link below and return it and any supporting documents to Ryan Kingston via email (email@example.com) no later than 5:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1st, 2019. Applicants may self-nominate or nominate others for an award.
Please note: 2018 winners are not eligible for a 2019 award; see the list of previous Award Recipients in the links below.
Eligibility for Public Entity Awards:
- State agencies, authorities, public colleges and universities, and/or their individual departments or facilities
- Municipalities and/or individual municipal departments, municipal or regional public schools, public school districts, regional planning commissions or other regional public entities working with municipalities, and public purchasing cooperatives. Awards will be presented to up to two state agencies, up to two public colleges/universities, and up to two municipalities
Eligibility for Individual Awards:
- Individuals employed by or volunteering for any of the above eligible entities
- Individual awards will be presented to up to one state government employee or volunteer and up to one municipal employee or volunteer
Leading by Example Award Recipients (2007-2018)
The 2018 LBE Awards highlighted a variety of innovative public sector sustainability efforts. Recipients were the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Metropolitan Area Planning Council, City of Salem, Town of Wellesley, Salem State University, UMass Amherst Landscaping Services, Thomas Philbin, Energy Manager of the Town of Westwood, and James Division, Chief Engineer of the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance Capitol Complex Operations Team.
