Leading by Example Renewable Energy Initiatives

By FY2012, 15% of total electricity consumed by state facilities came from on-site and renewable energy generation. Efforts are underway to meet the 30% renewable energy goal by 2020.

The Leading by Example program supports the adoption of renewable energy at state facilities through a number of initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • Grant funding for clean energy feasibility studies and solar PV canopies at state facilities
  • Technical assistance and support with state wide contracts for demand response, renewable energy generating Sources, alternative energy generating sources, and other qualifying sources
  • Technical assistance and preliminary analyses for agencies interested in renewable energy technologies

See LBE Guidance Documents and LBE Progress data on renewable energy.
