Learn about the Citizen Corps Program (CCP) Grant

Pending the availability of funds, MEMA - through an annual, competitive sub-grant application process - makes CCP funding available to local CERT and VIPS programs

This is a reimbursement-based grant program with a goal to assist local Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) programs in preparing for all-hazards in support of local first responder efforts. CCP funds may be used towards planning activities; equipment; training; and exercises. Additional information about the grant program and application process may be found in MEMA's Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), which is provided below.

CCP Sub-Grant Application Process and Materials

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has posted its FFY 2018 State Homeland Security Program - Citizen Corps Program, Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) below.

Through this competitive NOFO, MEMA will be accepting applications for grant funds from Massachusetts Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) organizations who have a primary responsibility of providing direct services at the community (municipal or regional) level.

Associations that are not direct service providers, and CERT and VIPS organizations who have a primary responsibility for serving institutions, non-profit organizations, or corporations are not eligible under this NOFO.

Completed applications must be submitted to MEMA no later than March 15, 2019

MEMA will conduct grant application briefings to address any questions applicants may have.  Attendance at these sessions is optional, but strongly encouraged. It is recommended that program and fiscal points of contact attend these meetings. These briefing sessions will be used to review this NOFO; highlight what is needed to submit a complete application; answer questions on allowable costs and activities; and provide technical assistance. The briefings will be held as follows:

MEMA Region I:         2/13/19; 365 East St. Tewksbury, MA; 10am-12pm

MEMA Region II:        2/12/19; Middleborough Fire HQ, 125 North Main St. Middleborough, MA 10am-11am and 6:30pm-7:30pm
