MCCPCN, a program within the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Massachusetts State Legislature, is committed to an integrated, coordinated, and collaborative approach that encompasses all points on the cancer continuum that will have the greatest impact on decreasing and eliminating death and suffering caused by cancer. The continuum includes cancer prevention, early detection, survivorship, treatment, palliation and end of life care.
MCCPCN's road map is the 2012 - 2016 State Cancer Plan. With input from our Steering Committee and our Work Groups, we select and implement strategies and supporting activities from the plan on an annual basis.
MCCPCN staff collaborates closely with other programs within the Department of Public Health, such as the Cancer Registry, Women’s Health Network, and Mass in Motion as well as network members and partners across the state. Key staff members include:
