MassHealth Managed Care HEDIS® Reports (2018 - 2010)

The annual MassHealth Managed Care HEDIS reports present information on the quality of care provided by the six health plans serving the MassHealth managed care population. This assessment was conducted by the MassHealth Office of Clinical Affairs (OCA), the MassHealth Office of Providers and Plans (OPP), and the MassHealth Office of Behavioral Health (OBH). The data presented in these reports are a subset of the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures. HEDIS was developed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and is the most widely used set of standardized performance measures to evaluate and report on the quality of care delivered by health care organizations.

MassHealth Managed Care Quality Strategy

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services developed a comprehensive quality strategy that reflects MassHealth’s framework for agency-wide quality activities, in addition to maintaining adherence to the regulatory managed care requirements. The document was posted for public comment in October 2018. Following the public comment period, MassHealth updated the strategy and submitted it to CMS for review. This strategy should be considered an operational draft until EOHHS receives final approval from CMS.

MassHealth Statewide Child Survey

This report presents the results of a survey of the experiences of MassHealth families enrolled in primary care and conducted in the spring of 2013. The Patient Experience Survey (PES) was designed and implemented to meet the objectives of a five‐year federally funded Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) grant awarded in 2010, as well as the objectives of the MassHealth managed care programs and the Primary Care Clinician Plan.
