General requirements
- You must complete at least 20 hours of continuing education per year.
- You need at least 40 hours total for each renewal cycle, which is every 2 years.
Live programs and contact hours
These are CE programs that:
- Involve direct interaction between the faculty and participants.
- Are taught by faculty with appropriate credentials related to the discipline.
These programs may include, but are not limited to:
- Lectures
- Symposia
- Live teleconferences
- Workshops
Minimum yearly requirements for CEs
- 5 hours of live contact
- 2 contact hours of pharmacy law
- These don't need to be live.
Additional requirements
If you engage in or oversee immunization activities:

1 contact hour in the area of immunizations
If you engage in or oversee the practice of sterile compounding:
- 5 contact hours of sterile compounding
- This can be home study or in live format.
If you engage in or oversee practice of complex non-sterile compounding:
- 3 contact hours of complex non-sterile compounding
- This can be home study or in live format.
If you engage in a collaborative practice agreement:

5 additional contact hours (for a total of 25 per year) that address areas related to a specific collaborative drug therapy management agreement.
