Health Professions Data Series

The Department of Public Health’s Health Professions Data Series currently reports on seven licensed health professions:

  • Dentists
  • Dental Hygienists
  • Pharmacists
  • Physicians
  • Physician Assistants
  • Registered Nurses
  • Licensed Practical Nurses

The reports characterize the workforce from a supply perspective. It identifies trends and patterns that impact access to health care professionals and services. The data helps inform healthcare workforce development, education, training, recruitment, and retention. It also monitors the diversity, cultural, and linguistic competence of the workforce to meet state needs.
