Suicide Prevention Program Community Advisory Board

Your Voice Matters!

What is the Community Advisory Board (CAB)?

The mission of the CAB is to provide a way for community members who receive Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) services, as well as people with lived experience with mental health struggles, to give meaningful input into the development of services, programs, and policies that address their needs. The CAB is a unique opportunity to help strengthen SPP services and ensure that they are as accessible, inclusive, and effective as possible.

What does the CAB do?

The CAB represents the community voice in suicide prevention services and programs. As a CAB member, you’ll participate in interactive monthly meetings to learn more about current SPP services, gain leadership and professional development skills, network, and come up with creative strategies to improve services and programs offered by the Suicide Prevention Program.

Who’s on the CAB?

If you have experienced any or all of the following (or know someone who has), we would love to hear from you!

  • Personally impacted by suicide
  • Lived experience with mental health struggles
  • Currently or previously received suicide prevention services (such as counseling, support groups, trainings, etc.)
  • 18 years of age or older

The CAB strives to build and maintain a diverse and inclusive membership; therefore, Massachusetts residents of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and from every region of the state are encouraged to apply.
