Working with legislative partners, State Auditor Suzanne M. Bump has crafted a series of bills that will help her office hold state government agencies and contractors accountable.

An Act Improving Government Accountability 

With Sen. Pacheco & Rep. Gregiore, Auditor Bump has written a bill that updates the list of records auditees must provide to Bump's office, improves the office's risk-based approach to auditing, and allows the office to require auditees to provide corrective-action plans.

An Act Improving the Internal Controls within State Agencies 

Working with Rep. Gregoire & Sen. Pacheco, Auditor Bump has drafted legislation to give the State Comptroller, in consultation with the State Auditor, the ability to establish regulations related to reporting requirements for state agencies and departments to mitigate loss of taxpayer assets.

An Act to Improve Oversight of State Government 

With Sen. Hinds & Rep. Cusak, Auditor Bump has sponsored a bill to allow her office to access tax return data for audits. It will help the office provide enhanced oversight of the Department of Revenue, determine how state agencies use tax data & assess public benefit programs.
