Tobin Bridge Repair Project

The Maurice J. Tobin Memorial Bridge (U.S. Route 1) is in need of repair to continue service through the 21st century. Rehabilitation work including repaving, painting, and steel repair will be underway from 2018 to 2020.

The Maurice J. Tobin Memorial Bridge (U.S. Route 1) is in need of repair to continue service through the 21st century. Rehabilitation work including repaving, painting, and steel repair will be underway from 2018 to 2020.

Route 1 Northbound (lower deck) will undergo steel repairs and Route 1 Southbound (upper deck) will be repaved. The Everett Avenue southbound on-ramp will be resurfaced and undergo steel repairs. The off-ramp at Beacon Street will undergo deck rehabilitation. Work will also include construction of a new parking area.

J.F. White is the prime contractor. Construction began over the winter of 2017-2018 and is expected to continue through 2020.

2018 work will include repairs to the upper and lower decks, followed by paving the upper deck, and repairs and resurfacing of both the Beacon Street off-ramp and the Everett Avenue on-ramp.
