Accessible hiking

Explore accessible trails in Massachusetts state parks and learn about adaptive hiking programs.

There are a range of different types of accessible trails in our parks to explore on your own. You can hike on paved rail trails, paved pathways, and accessibly-designed stone dust hiking trails.
The Universal Access Program also offers seasonal adaptive hiking programs from May–October each year. These group programs use conventional hiking trails on moderate terrain and include specialized equipment and staff support.
