Overview of Public Building Project Procurement and Oversight Basics
This 3-hour training provides a broad overview for nonexperts (public officials, public board and committee members, private contractors and other citizens) interested in a brief introduction to Massachusetts public construction procurement, project oversight requirements and best practices.
This is a clear, nontechnical introduction. Attendees will learn about the requirements for procuring contracts with building designers, owner’s project managers, and contractors. They will also receive a brief overview of other important construction-related topics such as the prevailing wage law, change orders, bonds, bid protests, and effective project oversight.
