The Massachusetts Department of Public Health works closely with the Department of Early Education and Care to ensure the well-being of young children in home-based and center-based childcare, preschool and other early education settings. This webpage serves as a portal for childcare health consultants, childcare staff, and families with young children. It features resources specific to Massachusetts, along with those from leading national child health agencies and organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care. Website topics include: children with special health care needs; medication administration; nutrition, physical activity and wellness; safe sleep; and social-emotional development, among others.
