Coy Hill WMA

Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) are open to the public for fishing, hunting, trapping, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

Description

This property consists of rolling hills with steep, rocky outcrops, mature hardwood ridges, mature white pine conifer stands, and a power line right of way passing through it.

Location, access, & parking

Access to this property is off of Coy Hill Road and Route 9. Route 9 parking consists only of small pullouts. Coy Hill Road has many spaces for parking. See WMA map.

Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.

Hunting

The habitat provides hunting opportunities for white-tailed deer, bobcat, eastern coyote, raccoon, and gray squirrel.

This area supports many species of wildlife along with scenic overlooks to the Ware River Valley from the rocky ledge areas.
