Four Chimneys WMA

Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) are open to the public for fishing, hunting, trapping, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

Description

This area is comprised of a mixed mature hardwood slope abutting an open mowed gas line right-of-way.

Location, access, & parking

Parking for this area is off of Borkum Road with parking for approximately three vehicles. See WMA map.

Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.

Habitat Management

Currently, the gas line right-of-way is mowed annually, thus maintaining an open landscape adjacent to the hardwood area.

Hunting opportunities

The mature hardwood stand provides hunting opportunities for pursuing white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and gray squirrel while the thick edge cover of the gas line right-of-way supports habitat for eastern cottontail and terrestrial furbearers such as red fox, bobcat, and eastern coyote.
