Gosnold WMA

Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) are open to the public for fishing, hunting, trapping, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

Town: Gosnold
Acreage: 7
Wildlife Management Zone: 13
Waterfowl Zone: Coastal (South)

Description

Gosnold WMA lies on the southwestern end of Cuttyhunk Island. This property consists of a mix of cobbled coastal beach, sand dune and shrub-scrub coastal habitat, and has frontage to Westend Pond, a salt pond.

Location, access, & parking

There is no formal access to the WMA. Landing by boat is extremely difficult due to rocky shoreline. Foot access may be possible across abutting private property with permission. See WMA map.

Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.

Hunting & fishing opportunities

There are limited opportunities to pursue waterfowl on this property.

The shoreline provides exceptional striped bass fishing seasonally.
