Description
The majority of Karner Brook WMA is comprised of brushy swampland and marsh. This property is divided into 2 parcels and borders the Karner Brook WCE on several sides. This property is an ecologically important area for rare plants and animals.
Location, access, & parking
There is no formal parking lot, but there is roadside parking for a few vehicles along Hillsdale Road (Route 23). Access to this WMA may be challenging for some recreational users due to the presence of swampland and marsh. See WMA map.
Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.
Habitat management
Some grazing, mowing, and herbicide application has been done at Karner Brook WMA to control vegetation and to maintain the characteristics of the marshy areas.

Hunting opportunities
There are opportunities to hunt for white-tailed deer in the northern, upland section of this WMA near the parking area off of Route 23.
Fishing opportunities
Small reaches of Fenton and Kerner Brooks flow through the WMA, both of which contain populations of native brook trout.
