Lawrence Brook WMA

Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) are open to the public for fishing, hunting, trapping, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

Description

This property is composed of mature hardwoods, thick mature hemlock forest, and low gradient wetlands heavily influenced by beavers.

Location, access, & parking

Parking space for two vehicles is available off North Fitzwilliam Road. See WMA map.

Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.

Recent forestry operations for habitat improvement have created new growth and young forest habitat.

Hunting & fishing opportunities

Recent harvests of mature timber stands provide white-tailed deer and gray squirrel hunting opportunities. Lawrence Brook provides fishing opportunities for stocked trout. Go to mass.gov/trout for more information.

There are opportunities for viewing such as white-tailed deer, eastern coyote, gray squirrel and possibly moose as a result of the recent forestry operations.
