Description
Long Mountain WMA contains a series of high elevation hill tops, including the northern half of the 1,900-foot Kingsbury Mountain, and is covered with a mix of hardwood and softwood forests. A small pond, Mud Pond, is located in the southwest corner of the property, just north of Hayes Pond. Benton Brook runs along the eastern portion of the WMA, flowing from Hayden Swamp to a second wetland area further downstream in the southeastern corner of the property.

Location, access, & parking
This WMA is located in the northwest corner of Otis along the Tyringham town line, south of Dimmock Road. The easiest access points are off the end of Giles Road and Stebbins Road. Access can also be made via a dirt log road off Dimmock Road. Parking is limited and informal at all access points. See WMA map.
Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.
Hunting opportunities
Abundant woodlands within this area provide great habitat for many game species including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, black bear, bobcat, red fox, ruffed grouse, American woodcock, crow, and eastern coyote. With Mud Pond and two wetlands on the property, it creates a good opportunity for hunting waterfowl and pursuing aquatic furbearers.

Mud Pond is a level bog, an uncommon type of natural community.
