Purchade Brook WMA

Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) are open to the public for fishing, hunting, trapping, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

Description

Purchade Brook WMA consists primarily of mixed hardwoods dominated by white pine, red oak and black oak, red maple swamp and some areas of shrub swamp associated with Purchase Brook.

Location, access, & parking

There is no formal access or parking area as the agency does not own any road frontage. Access to the WMA can only be gained by traveling across other unposted, undeveloped lands abutting the property. See WMA map.

Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.

Hunting opportunities

Game species commonly found on this WMA include white-tailed deer, wild turkey, eastern coyote, raccoon, opossum, and gray squirrel.
