Trapfall Brook WMA

Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) are open to the public for fishing, hunting, trapping, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

Description

Located off Harris and Jones Hill Road in Ashby, this property consists mainly hemlock and pine forests with some wetlands.

Location, access, & parking

Parking is available roadside on Harris Road. See WMA Map.  

Note: WMA's are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.  

Hunting & fishing opportunities

Forest supports ruffed grouse, deer, fox, cottontail rabbit, coyote, fisher, raccoon, woodcock, and gray squirrel. Bear and moose are occasionally reported. Trapfall Brook is a cold water fish resource and is stocked each spring with trout. For more information regarding trout stocking visit mass.gov/trout.
