Description
This property consists of large areas of buttonbush and other shrubs as well as hardwood forest. The area borders the 128-acre West Meadow Pond and parts of West Bridgewater State Forest.
Location, access, & parking
Parking and canoe access are located on Spring Street in West Bridgewater. See WMA map.
Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.
Hunting opportunities
The area provides hunting opportunities for white-tailed deer, eastern coyote, raccoon, wild turkey, red and gray fox, cottontail rabbits, waterfowl, and aquatic furbearers.
Fishing opportunities
This area has canoe access and provides warmwater fishing opportunities for black crappie, bullhead, chain pickerel, largemouth bass, and sunfish. Several streams flow into the pond and West Meadow Brook flows out below the dam and then into Mill Pond.
Wildlife viewing & other features
The large marsh on the WMA presents opportunities for seeing uncommon marsh birds.
