Hunting at Mount Greylock

You may hunt within Mount Greylock, but some rules apply.

Restrictions

  • Hikers and pets on leash should wear blaze orange during the hunting season.
  • Hunting not allowed from May 20th to the day observed by the Commonwealth as Columbus Day, or within the War Memorial Park, a .75 mile radius from the War Memorial Tower at any time of the year.
  • No hunting within 500 feet of:
    • Designated picnic and camping areas
    • Buildings
    • Restrooms
    • Parking lots
  • No hunting within 150 feet of any hard-surfaced highway.
  • No target shooting or target practice.
  • No organized field trials, unless with written permission from the Director.
