MCDHH Substance Abuse Services

MCDHH currently employs a Coordinator of Statewide Substance Abuse and Recovery Services. To support families, individuals, the community, and Recovery Support centers, the Coordinator provides information on issues surrounding drugs, alcohol, behavioral addictions and mental health co-occurring disorders.

Through contracts with the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS), an Interdepartmental Service Agreement (ISA) has increased provision of interpreters for online/remote meetings during COVID-19. Additionally, Zoom ASL Recovery Support meetings are available now seven days a week in multiple paths of recovery. These meetings include Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, AlAnon, All Recovery Meetings, and Recovery Dharma.

The Deaf Recovery Coach program has provided support to individuals and families through-out the Commonwealth, using a wide-reaching approach the Recovery, including advocating for access to Medication Assisted Treatment, and other traditional or non-traditional pathways.
