Municipal Programs

Helping the Commonwealth's cities and towns to mitigate emissions and foster adaptation and resiliency.

The Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program and the Green Communities Act are the cornerstones of the Commonwealth's efforts to assist cities and towns in the battle against climate change. Green Communities helps cities and towns to reduce energy consumption and increase renewable energy in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The MVP program provides technical assistance and financial resources to help communities protect their residents, buildings, and natural resources from the impacts of climate change.
