DCR Division of Water Supply Protection (DWSP)

The Division of Water Supply Protection manages and protects the drinking water supply for residents of Massachusetts, primarily in Greater Boston. Programs promote water quality and conservation through water resources policy and planning efforts.

Who we serve

We serve residents, communities, citizen's groups and public water suppliers.

The DWSP is made up of two offices: the Office of Watershed Management(OWM) and the Office of Water Resources (OWR).

The OWM is charged with protecting metro Boston’s watershed and reservoirs.

The OWR manages programs that serve to protect water resources across the Commonwealth.
