Protecting the Rights of People with Disabilities

The Attorney General’s Office enforces federal and state laws protecting the rights of people with disabilities.

The office enforces Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Massachusetts Public Accommodation Law, and the Massachusetts Equal Rights Act, and focuses on eliminating discriminatory barriers to services and ensuring accommodations for all people. The office has worked collaboratively with other state attorneys general, the Civil Rights DIvision of the U.S. Department of Justice, and other agencies, advocates, independent living centers, and community members.
