Important Update about the Unemployment Insurance - Medical Security Plan Message from MassHealth
Congress has now taken action to extend unemployment benefits. In light of this extension, individuals receiving both unemployment insurance and Medical Security Plan (MSP) will be able to continue receiving unemployment checks and their health insurance coverage through MSP through the extension period. MassHealth has, therefore, removed information update forms, specialized MBRs, and the special box on the VG Fax/Mail cover sheet that were developed for affected individuals to help them apply for other coverage. Affected individuals will continue to receive unemployment income and MSP/COBRA insurance through the extension period.
Providers and community agencies are advised to use regular application processes for all individuals.
