Introduction to the Bureau of Environmental Health
The Bureau of Environmental Health (BEH) has a broad mission of protecting the public health from a variety of environmental exposures. The BEH responds to environmental health concerns and provides communities with epidemiologic and toxicological health assessments.

The Bureau is comprised of nine programs.

Includes information on topics such as beaches, water, fish, wildlife, indoor air quality, lead, mercury, and radiation control.

Direct electronic data reporting and linkage of health effect exposure and hazard data. Includes information on Asthma and Lupus.

The Bureau investigates potential exposures to contaminants in the air, water, or soil and their possible effects on the public's health.
